What to Bring to the Bridal Suite (and What to Leave)

Nothing that goes over your head. Nothing you are undecided about.

November 3, 2026

Brides ask me this constantly and the answer surprises them: pack less than you think, but be very specific about what you pack. The getting-ready room is not a hotel stay, it is a workspace, and clutter slows a morning down.

What to wear first. A robe or a button-down shirt that opens fully, never anything that goes over the head. This sounds obvious and roughly one bride in five forgets it. A soft front-closure robe in a light color photographs beautifully and does not disturb the hair when it comes off.

Then the things that get used. Your own mascara, because you know it. A lip color for touch-ups, ideally two: one for the ceremony and a deeper one for evening. Blotting papers. A small mirror. Whatever you use on your skin every day.

What to leave at home. Full makeup bags, three pairs of shoes, anything you are undecided about. Undecided items create decisions, and decisions in a getting-ready room at ten in the morning are the thing that makes a morning run late.

The one thing I would add that nobody brings: a phone charger with a long cable, and a small speaker. Chargers go missing in hotel rooms, and the speaker changes the tone of the room more than any other single item.

Finally, the paperwork. Your vendor timeline, the chair order, and the photographer's shot list, printed or saved where you can find it. If a question comes up, having the answer on a page beats texting a planner.

Inquire and I will send my full getting-ready checklist, which includes everything above and a page on what your party should bring too. All rates are on the investment page.
