Sundy House is a 1902 house in downtown Delray Beach with a garden behind it that feels like someone dropped a rainforest into a residential block. Streams, bridges, palms, and a labyrinth of paths make it one of the most romantic ceremony sites in Palm Beach County. It is also, reliably, the most humid place we work.
The garden holds water. Between the stream, the mature canopy, and the Florida aquifer doing its thing, a Sundy House morning sits at a humidity level that will test any style. Our answer is prep, not product. We set the hair with tension, use a smoothing primer through the mid-lengths, and finish the root area with a light hold rather than a heavy one. Sealants go on the ends only. Anything with silicone near the scalp will collapse a style before your first look.
Style-wise, the setting wants softness. A loose chignon with tendrils at the ear. A low twisted updo with a few sprigs of green tucked in. Half-up with a soft wave and a veil that trails into the garden. We keep the shape romantic and the base ruthless, which is the combination that survives a tropical garden.
Practical notes we share with every Sundy House bride: wear shoes you can walk a gravel path in, plan portraits before the ceremony if your start time is after four, and ask your photographer about the bridge and stream shots so we can style the veil accordingly. Between the bridge and the water, there is a lot of wind in a small space.
The Bride Experience is $1,000 and includes your preview appointment. Party hair runs $225 per person, party makeup the same, and seven or more hair services adds a second artist.
