Brides ask me whether they can skip the preview appointment to save money, and I want to give a straight answer because the honest one is more complicated than either side admits.
When you can skip it. If you are wearing a style you have worn before, successfully, on your own hair, in similar conditions, skip it. If you are marrying in a cool season indoors and want a simple blowout, skip it. If your party is small and the morning has slack, you have room for adjustment on the day.
When you should not. If you have not worn the style before. If your hair behaves unpredictably in humidity. If you are wearing a veil or headpiece with a specific attachment. If you have extensions going in. If you are worried about anything, which is its own reason.
What the preview actually buys you. Not just a photo. It buys you a rehearsal of the exact construction on your hair, which is the only way to know whether it holds. It buys you the conversation about what you actually like versus what you thought you liked. And it buys you the calm of knowing, which on a wedding morning is worth more than the appointment costs.
My honest position: if your budget is tight, cut costs elsewhere before cutting the preview. The florist will not remember your hair. I will.
