The Colony and the Breakers get the headlines, but Palm Beach has a quieter set of venues that produce some of the most beautiful weddings in the county. The Brazilian Court, the Bath & Tennis Club, the Everglades Club, and a handful of private estates that never appear on a list.
The Brazilian Court is intimate in a way that changes the hair brief entirely. Small courtyards, close photography, a sense of a house party rather than a production. Hair should be soft and personal: a loose low bun, a brushed wave with a jeweled pin, a half-up that could plausibly be your own doing. Anything heavily structured reads as borrowed.
The private estates are the wild card and my favorite. A Palm Beach house with a courtyard and a tent is a venue with no rules, and that means the hair can be anything. I have done a bride in a silk slip dress with wet-look hair at an estate wedding and it was the best thing I styled that year.
The constant across all of them is light. Palm Beach light is bright and bounced off water and pale stone, and it flatters soft finishes and punishes heavy product. Light layers, clean surfaces, generous shine.
