Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, and the southern edge of Miami-Dade are not places I expected to work, and now I take a handful of weddings down there every year. Couples choose them for the same reason: space, trees, and a house that can hold everyone.
These are estate and garden weddings more often than venue weddings, and that changes the hair conversation. There is no getting-ready suite. There is a bedroom with wonderful natural light and a bathroom with a single mirror, and the difference between a calm morning and a chaotic one is whether anyone planned for that.
My setup list for a home wedding in South Miami is short: one bright room with a door that closes, a folding table, two chairs, and an outlet within reach. When those exist, a party of eight is straightforward. When they do not, we are working around furniture in a hallway.
Hair-wise, the climate is Miami: hotter and more humid than Palm Beach, and the garden shade here is genuinely beautiful and genuinely damp. Prepping for humidity is everything.
A note on style. Estate weddings in this part of Miami tend to run dressy but relaxed. Soft waves, an elegant low knot, a braided detail. Nothing that looks like it was assembled for a ballroom.
Numbers as always: bride hair $1,000 with preview, party hair $225 per person, engagement sessions $500, extra on-location hours $400. Travel to Miami-Dade is quoted separately and honestly. Full investment details are online.
