The Moroccanoil Original Treatment is the most copied product in hair, and most brides are using it wrong. Not badly, just wrong for their hair type, and then they conclude it does not work.
What it is: an argan-oil-based finishing treatment. What it does beautifully: adds shine, smooths the cuticle, and tames the frizz that Palm Beach air creates at the mid-lengths and ends. What it does not do: repair damage, and it will absolutely flatten fine hair if applied at the root.
My rule is one pump. For most hair, one pump warmed between the palms, pressed from mid-shaft to ends on damp hair before drying. That is it. On coarse or very long hair, one and a half. On fine hair, half a pump, ends only, and only if the hair is not already conditioned.
The mistake I see constantly is brides applying it to dry hair at the root before a blowout. That produces weight at the crown, a flat front, and a style that collapses by noon. Argan oil belongs where the hair is oldest, which is the ends.
The second-best use is as a finishing touch. A single drop on the palms, smoothed over the surface of a finished style, adds that satin sheen that photographs so well without looking greasy.
