If you are planning a wedding with people watching from another state or another country, there is one framing question that matters more than any other: how does the hair read on a small screen, in a window, during a lag?
Livestream cameras are unforgiving in a specific way. They compress, they flatten, and they kill detail. A style with beautiful, delicate, fine detail will read as a soft blur. What reads well is contrast and silhouette.
So for livestream brides I build differently. I go for a clear shape with a defined edge: a sculpted chignon, a smooth top with visible volume, a strong side part with shine. Texture that shows up in a compressed image. And I make sure the hairline is clean, because the hairline is the most legible part of a face on a stream.
Shine matters more than you would expect. Flash photography rewards gloss, and camera compression rewards it too. A finishing oil pressed over the style rather than rubbed in gives that glassy read.
One practical point: the camera position. Ask your videographer where the stream camera sits relative to the altar. If it is a wide shot from the back of the room, your veil and the back of your hair will be doing most of the work in the frame.
The rest is the usual good practice: do not touch your hair, because movement reads as a big blur on a stream, and keep your hands down.
If family is watching from far away, tell me when you inquire and we will build for the camera. Bride hair including preview is $1,000, full investment online.
