What I do in those minutes is not technical. I check the back, which nobody has seen, and I look for anything that has shifted in the last hour. I check the hairline in daylight, not bathroom light, because hotel lighting lies. I fix anything that will not survive the walk to the ceremony.
Then I do the thing that actually matters: I tell her what she looks like. Specifically. Not you look beautiful, which she cannot hear by then. She has washed her hair, sat in a chair for two hours, and had her mother cry at her. She needs to hear that the left side is perfect and that nothing is going to move.
The final touch, if the venue is outdoors in Palm Beach County, is a light pass of finishing spray at the hairline and a reminder to keep hands off until the ceremony is over. That is it. Hands are the enemy of every style.
