Indian Spring is a Boynton Beach club with a genuinely pleasant ballroom and a membership that has been hosting weddings for decades. It is the kind of venue where the staff knows what a wedding morning looks like and does not get in the way, which sounds like faint praise and is not.
In hair terms, the room is warm and forgiving. Carpeted, lower ceiling, soft lighting. That combination flatters almost any finish, and it lets me use more shine than I would in a modern glass room. A light gloss on the crown photographs beautifully here.
Ceremonies are usually outdoors, either on the terrace or the lawn, and Boynton Beach in the cooler months is as comfortable as South Florida gets. Summer is another matter: still, humid, and hot, with none of the ocean breeze that makes a beach venue bearable in August. I set the front tighter for summer dates and go matte.
What I like about this venue for a mid-size wedding: the space flows. Getting-ready to ceremony to cocktail is a short walk, which means the hair takes less punishment between photographs. At venues where the bride has to cross a parking lot twice, the style ages faster.
One note on the ballroom. It photographs darker than it feels in person, so I build shapes with clear silhouette: a defined chignon, a swept pony, a half-up with visible structure. Very fine, wispy texture disappears in that room.
