Brides ask how long a blowout lasts, expecting an answer in days. The honest answer is that it depends on three things, and two of them are habits rather than products.
In a dry climate, a good blowout lasts four to five days. In Palm Beach County in October, expect two to three. In July, honestly, one to two days before you want to refresh.
The three things that decide it. Density, because fine hair loses a blowout faster than coarse hair. Texture, because straight hair slips and holds a smooth finish longer, while natural movement means the shape relaxes. And behavior, which is the one you control.
The habits that extend a blowout, in order of impact. Do not touch it, because hands transfer oil to exactly the part that needs to hold. Sleep on silk, with hair loosely gathered. Do not wet it at the hairline in the morning, because that kills the shape at the frame and it is the first thing anyone sees.
For a dry refresh, a dry shampoo at the root and a very light mist of texture spray mid-shaft, then a round brush on the front sections only. That gets you a fourth day.
For brides: do not book a blowout the morning of a wedding and then sit in humidity for three hours. If you want a blowout for the wedding, get it shaped the day before and set it properly.
