Every December I get asked whether a holiday wedding in Palm Beach means red and green, and the answer is that the best ones do not. The ones that photograph beautifully do something smarter.
The weather is the gift. Late November through December in Palm Beach County is dry, mild, and clear, with sunset around 5:30. That means golden hour during cocktail hour and a genuinely cool evening. It is the one time of year you can wear an outdoor ceremony and a long-sleeve dress without regret.
For hair, that means freedom. Soft styles that would wilt in June hold beautifully in December. You can wear waves down, a loose knot, a half-up with volume. You can wear a veil outside without worrying about the wind fighting it for an hour.
On the palette, I would lean toward warm neutrals and natural greens rather than literal holiday reds. Creamsilk flowers, magnolia, amaryllis, olive branches. Hair accessories in gold or pearl rather than kitsch. The result reads festive without looking like a department store display.
The one thing I do build for: family photographs. Holiday weddings have more generations in one room than any other date on the calendar, and those photographs happen early. Book mothers and grandmothers first.
