This is not a venue for a style that needs a mirror at four o'clock.
Start with the ceremony hour. A late-afternoon lawn ceremony at Frenchman's Creek puts the sun in a low, hard angle across your face and shoulders. That light is unforgiving to a soft, unstructured style. I build a little more shape into the crown than I would for an indoor ceremony, then photograph the proof at the preview so you can see it rather than trust me.
Then plan for the transition indoors. Air conditioning is not the enemy people think, but going from eighty-five degrees of humid air into a sixty-eight degree ballroom does make fine hair collapse slightly. A style with a structural base, meaning pinned sections rather than a single twisted shape, absorbs that shift without a visible change.
Then plan for hour nine. The nape is what fails first. I lock it early with crossed pins and a light setting spray, and I check it once before I leave.
