Frenchman's Creek weddings have a rhythm I have come to love. The ceremony happens at the beach club, water and sky and open air. Then everyone moves inland to the country club for dinner and dancing under a different kind of light. Two buildings, one afternoon, and hair that has to survive the transition without a touch-up artist standing by.
My plan is built around the drive. Before the bride leaves the getting-ready room, I do a full structural check: I have her turn her head side to side, look down, and walk ten steps. Anything that shifts in that test will shift in a car. Then I lift the front section slightly higher than instinct suggests, because air conditioning in a vehicle and then open air again is a double stress test.
For the beach club portion, I favor styles with a defined perimeter and a soft interior. A low knot with a clean front and a few loose face-framing pieces holds beautifully. For the country club, that same shape translates to formal without needing to be redone.
Getting-ready space is comfortable, and the team at Frenchman's Creek is a pleasure to work with, which matters more than brides realize. I still sequence carefully: mothers and grandmothers, then bridesmaids, then a genuine pause before the bride sits down. Above seven hair services, a second artist joins me.
