Brides going to the Florida Keys for a wedding ask me whether their hair plan should change, and the answer is yes, substantially. The Keys are not Palm Beach with palm trees. They are a different climate with a different wind pattern, and hair behaves accordingly.
The first difference is constant wind. In the Keys there is almost always a breeze, and it carries salt. Salt air is drying, which paradoxically makes hair frizz more, because dry hair reaches for moisture and grabs whatever is in the air. The solution is hydration and a sealed cuticle, not more hold product.
The second is that most Keys weddings involve a boat, a dock, or a beach. Those are three of the most punishing environments for a hairstyle, and they are usually all in the same afternoon. So I build for the worst moment, not the ceremony. If the ceremony is on a lawn and the reception is on a deck, the deck wins.
The third is travel. Brides flying to the Keys should not have their hair styled at home. Style it there, the day of, and plan for heat. If you are driving, styling the morning of in Florida City or Key Largo is a smart compromise.
