Polish over volume. A smooth, low chignon with a clean center part or a soft side sweep photographs beautifully against that architecture and never competes with it. Big beachy volume in a Mediterranean courtyard looks like it wandered in from a different wedding.

Control the nape line. When you're seated at a long table in a room like that, the back of your head is on display for four hours. I spend real time on the nape, smoothing it, getting the pins invisible, making sure the shape holds its silhouette from behind.

Skip heavy shine. Their lighting is warm and forgiving, and a high-gloss finish turns amber in it. A satin finish, one light pass of a gloss mist, reads as healthy hair rather than product.
