Emerald Dunes Club in Palm Beach Gardens has one of the best ballrooms in the county for photography: high ceilings, warm wood, and light that lands softly rather than harshly. That combination is forgiving, which means I can be a little more adventurous with texture than I would be in a stark white room.
Adventurous in my vocabulary means shape, not novelty. A low braided crown with a soft finish. A textured chignon with visible bend. A modern take on a French twist with a deliberately loose back. These read interesting in good light and never look like a trend that will read as dated in four years.
The Palm Beach Gardens location also means most of my brides here are local, which lets us do a preview in the actual season. That matters more than brides expect. A style approved in a February preview can behave differently in a June wedding, and I would rather know that four months out than on the morning.
Ballroom light also means I can go lighter on shine and heavier on texture without it reading as frizz. Warm wood absorbs reflections in a way that helps.
Timing is comfortable here, with real space for two chairs. Past seven hair services a second artist joins me, and above fifteen we plan three chairs and a longer call time. Numbers: Bride Experience $1,000, party hair $225 per person, extra on-location hours $400 each. See investment.
