Delray Beach might be the most photogenic wedding town in Palm Beach County. Atlantic Avenue is a postcard, the beach is wide, and the venues range from a 1902 house to a rooftop hotel. The hair brief changes block by block.

Downtown venues mean architecture and foot traffic and a certain energy. Brides marrying on Atlantic Avenue tend to want something urban: a sleek low knot, a strong center part, a polished ponytail. The look should feel like you could walk out of the reception and onto the avenue without anyone thinking your hair was the event.

Beach venues mean wind and salt and bright, hard light. That is a different job entirely. Pinned shapes only, with a controlled front and a light hand with product. If your ceremony is on the sand and your reception is at a downtown venue, plan a second, abbreviated styling moment between them. The ten-minute reset is worth more than any amount of extra spray.
