Coconut Grove and Coral Gables are the two most photogenic neighborhoods in Miami-Dade, and I style brides in both regularly enough to have opinions about what works where.
Coral Gables is Mediterranean Revival at its most deliberate: coral rock, tile roofs, the Biltmore, the Granada entrance. Weddings there tend to be formal in a traditional way, and hair should follow. A polished chignon, a smooth set of waves with real gloss, a clean silhouette with a beautiful accessory. This is a neighborhood that rewards classic elegance and punishes anything that looks like it is trying too hard to be current.
Coconut Grove is the opposite energy. Banyan trees, the water, a bohemian streak that has survived decades of development. Weddings here can be looser: soft waves, braided details, flowers in the hair, an updo that looks like a happy accident.
Both neighborhoods share Miami weather, which is Palm Beach humidity plus a few degrees. Prep matters. A gloss or smoothing treatment in the weeks before helps, and a base built with heat is non-negotiable.
Travel: I cover Miami-Dade regularly, and it is a day commitment rather than a quick drive. Build that into your planning and your budget conversation.
Bride hair is $1,000 including your preview, and party hair is $225 per person. Full investment details are on the site. If your venue is in the Gables or the Grove, inquire early so we can hold the date.
