Wedding Hair at The Cloister, The Boca Raton: Old Florida Formality

The Cloister at The Boca Raton is the original 1926 building, the one with the Spanish Colonial arches and the palm court that has been photographed for nearly a century. Weddings here feel like they were always going to happen here. The room does not need help. Your hair should simply belong in it.

What the venue asks of hair: Old Florida formality. A polished chignon, a classic low twist, waves with a part so clean it looks drawn, these read correctly against arches and tile. What I steer brides away from is anything aggressively minimal or aggressively undone; there is a difference between relaxed and unfinished, and the Cloister will show you which one you chose.

Boca light is warm and it arrives low through the courtyard in the afternoon. Product heavy finishes turn shiny in that light, especially in the close frames your photographer will take near the archways. I work toward matte-satin finishes with shine built into the blowout rather than layered on top.

Timeline notes: the property is large, so room location matters. Cloister suites are closer to the courtyard, the Tower and Bungalows are a longer walk, and beach club ceremonies add a shuttle. I ask your planner which spaces you actually hold, then build the morning around the real distances rather than assuming. Parties here often run eight to twelve services, which means two artists and a schedule built backward from your ceremony.
