A simple, well-executed style photographs better in that light than something elaborate.
Photographs will be taken. There will be a group shot with your mother in a garden, and it will be on the fridge for years. So keep the front placed and the finish matte, since bright daylight turns any gloss into a hotspot.
Timing: showers usually start at eleven or noon, which means a morning appointment. If you are hosting at home, a group appointment for the bride and the female relatives is genuinely efficient, and it makes for a lovely shared hour before guests arrive.
