The hardest booking conversation I have is with a bride whose planner has told her the ceremony starts at five and the getting-ready access begins at three. It is not that anyone is being difficult. It is arithmetic, and it is worth being honest about so nobody is surprised on the day.
Here is the real math. A bridal style from scratch takes sixty to ninety minutes, more if extensions are being installed. Party hair runs forty-five minutes per person. If you have six bridesmaids, three mothers, and you, and one artist, that is seven and a half hours of chair time before the bride is finished. Nobody wants that timeline, and it is what a two-hour window cannot hold.
The solutions, in order of preference. First, add a second artist: at seven or more hair services I bring one automatically, because the alternative is a rushed morning. Second, split the party across two locations if your venue allows it. Third, do the bride earlier rather than last, so the most important service is never at risk.
What I will not do is promise something unrealistic to win a booking. A rushed morning shows in the photographs.
