Bridal Hair and Facial Timing: What to Book When

Facials, glosses, color, and waxing all run on different clocks

November 7, 2026

Every bride asks about hair and facial timing, and the advice floating around online is mostly wrong. Here is what actually matters, in order.

Facials first. A good facial is a wonderful pre-wedding investment and a terrible three-day-before decision. Extractions, peels, and even a vigorous massage can leave skin flushed or lightly irritated for up to a week, and the last thing you want is a breakout on your collarbone in a strapless dress. Book your last facial four weeks out. That's close enough to see results and far enough to recover.

Hair treatments are the opposite. Deep conditioning, glosses, and masks peak in the first three to five days. Do those a week out, then let your hair return to normal before the wedding morning, because over-conditioned hair won't hold a pin.

Color is its own clock. Roots need three weeks. A gloss or toner needs two weeks, because warmth needs time to settle and nobody wants a fresh-toner shine under club lighting. Highlights should land four weeks out so the tone has softened.

One thing that surprises brides: eyebrow waxing and hair removal. Schedule those five to seven days out, not two. Redness at the hairline reads in every photograph, and a fresh wax plus a tightly pulled style is an uncomfortable combination.

And the nails. If you're doing a manicure, two days before is the sweet spot. The day before is a scheduling risk, and the morning of is a fantasy.

My advice to every bride is to build a simple countdown list and then stop looking at it. Inquire with your date and I'll send you the version I use, and our instant pricing tool covers the styling side.
