A facial two days before your wedding can leave your skin glowing or leave your hairline flaking, and the difference is entirely about timing and aftercare. We get asked about this every season, usually by a bride who has just booked a peel she saw on Instagram.
First, the honest limitation: a facial has nothing to do with your hair, but it has everything to do with your hairline. Peels, extractions, and strong actives can leave the skin around your temples and ears sensitive and slightly compromised. If we pull a style tight against freshly treated skin, you will feel it, and it may show in photographs as redness.
The safe window is five to seven days before the wedding for anything active, and three days for a gentle hydrating facial. If your preview appointment lands right after a peel, tell us. We will build the style with a softer tension at the hairline and avoid adhesive products near the temples.
Second, hydration matters in both directions. A hydrating facial helps skin look calm under wedding makeup, and a well-hydrated scalp makes hair lie better. What does not help is a deep-cleansing treatment 24 hours before the wedding, which can leave skin reactive and hair flat from the accompanying steam and product stripping.
Third, book your facial before your color appointment, not after. Color needs a settled, non-reactive scalp, and a fresh peel plus a color service in the same 48 hours is asking for a sting.
The workable order for the final week: facial six days out, color four days out, spray tan three days out, nails two days out, hair washed the morning of the rehearsal dinner. It is not glamorous, but it is reliable, and reliable is what you want.
