The Bear's Club is Jupiter at its most discreet. A Jack Nicklaus golf club set behind gates off Donald Ross Road, it's the kind of place where the parking lot is full of cars nobody notices and the service anticipates you. Weddings here feel like being let in on something.
Because the club is understated, hair should be too. I lean toward soft, expensive-looking finishes: a brushed-out wave, a chignon with satin shine, a half-up with a fine veil. Texture is welcome, fuss is not. Nothing that needs attention all night.
The clubhouse light is warm and low, which is beautiful for skin and unforgiving for hair color. Roots read dark, brass reads orange, and gray reads brighter than you expect. I ask brides to book their final color three weeks out, not ten days, so any warmth has settled.
Jupiter logistics: from the island it's about twenty-five minutes, and from Palm Beach Gardens it's ten. Most of my Bear's Club brides get ready at home or at a hotel in Jupiter, and I style on site when there's space. The club is generous with setup time, which makes for a genuinely calm morning.
Evening ceremonies here often start at 6:00, which means the getting-ready hours are the hottest part of the day. I keep the room cool, prep hair with a humidity barrier, and finish the bride within twenty minutes of her walk so nothing has time to move.
