Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is a hidden gem on the island and one of the most photogenic wedding sites in Palm Beach. Sculpture, palms, a historic studio. Brides who marry here usually have excellent taste and a small guest list, which means the photographs are close and personal.
Close photographs change the brief. When the camera is three feet away, every pin is visible. There is nowhere to hide a rushed finish. I spend proportionally more time on clean sections and a tidy pin line here than I would for a ballroom wedding, and less time on volume nobody will see.
The garden's sculpture is big and bold, and hair competing with it looks small. The answer is not more hair. It is a stronger silhouette: a sharp center part, a deliberate low bun, a clean line at the jaw. Something graphic that holds its own against bronze.
Consider the season carefully. Late spring through early fall, the garden is humid and the light is hard. Winter and early spring are the dream: dry air, soft light, and a property that is quiet in the best way. If you have flexibility on dates, this venue rewards a January or February wedding handsomely.
